Canon cheers for the East Asian Games in Hong Kong

As Canon carries the torch for the East Asian Games (EAG), a series of fun colored Canon calculators are introduced to celebrate this event in Hong Kong.

Canon Electronic Business Machines (H.K.) has inspired a range of keychain calculators to highlight this event. They are available in the four colors found in the emblem of the East Asian Games - Red, Blue, Yellow and Green. Using the EAG mascot "Dony" & "Ami", the sports selected as the themes are tennis, Wind-surfing, Rugby Seven and Football. A version of the credit card size calculator is being introduced along with the basketball theme.

Canon is cheerleading for this event till December of this year.

The EAG mascot "Dony" & "Ami" used fire and lion as the elements to convey the striving and helping spirit of the Hong Kong people. The fireworks pattern on their bodies represents people of different races in Hong Kong and their participation in the Games.

The 5th East Asian Games will be held in Hong Kong from 5 - 13 December 2009. Over 3,000 elite athletes will compete for medals in 22 sports.

East Asian Games participating countries include China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei, Macau, Mongolia and Guam.
