Oct 11, 2009

Members of Canon Electronic Business Machines (H.K.) Co. Ltd participated the International Coastal Cleanup to give a hand in starting the sea change. They became data detective to look for who’s trashing the ocean and waterways to assist in the analysis of the cause of debris. The information will be used to help citizens, community groups and schools, municipalities, business and industry, and government agencies to develop solutions for pollution problems associated with coastal and water-borne debris.

Trash in the ocean doesn’t fall from the sky - it falls from people’s hands.

  • Human-made debris, trash and litter
  • Harms the environment and wildlife
  • Threatens human health and safety
  • Causes communities to lose money
  • Looks bad

Since 1986, millions around the globe have joined in Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup, the world’s largest volunteer effort to clean up our marine environment.
