Canon support on Earth Hour 2012 Campaign

Mar 31, 2012

Earth HourEarth Hour is a global event created by the people for the planet, and the commitment made goes beyond one hour. It symbolizes what can happen when the world acts together, and in celebration of the planet's future. Earth Hour 2012 will be held on Saturday 31 March, 2012 at 8.30pm. Mark it on your calendar now! Hong Kong, will again, together with other Chinese cities be part of this global campaign.

Earth Hour is a global event which Hong Kong is proud to be an integral part of. The more support we get, the stronger voice we present for concern on our environment. Doing several small, environmentally-friendly actions every day not only saves the environment, but also helps protect species and their habitats and peoples' livelihoods in other parts of the world. Your small steps can make a positive difference. Act now and help to get more people acting too.

Canon Electronic Business Machines (H.K.) Co. Ltd. has continuously supported the event. Please support Earth Hour 2012 by joining us to turn off the light for one hour, you will not only show action against climate change, but also take one further step of practicing how to live in harmony with nature. Every step can make a difference to the Earth.

Earth Hour 2012 aims to go beyond the hour again, this time by asking you to set your own energy saving target for a living planet. We can do much more than switch off the lights to save electricity. Each of us can widen the scope of Earth Hour and reflect on our own energy consumption patterns. We can:

  • Save electricity by changing the way we use and buy appliances
  • Save energy on our commute to and from work or school
  • Save energy when we cook and bathe…

…and that’s just the start!

Turning off lights in home at 8:30pm – 9:30pm, 31 March 2012
